Experimental Investigation on the Axial Compressive Behaviour of Cold-Formed Steel-Concrete Composite Columns Infilled with Various Types of Fibre-Reinforced Concrete

The exceptional structural strength and low cost of steel-concrete composite columns make them a popular choice for civil engineering structures. Numerous forms columns, including steel tubes filled with concrete, have been produced recently in response to various construction situations. Cold-formed tubular concrete filling higher ductility due their capacity withstand inner buckling postpone outward buckling. objective this research is determine the ductile performance containing fibre-reinforced when subjected axial compression. Several different kinds (FRC) are employed as additives hollow FRC, carbon glass coir jute sisal FRC. Axial compression tests were performed on 24 three 21 columns. Three distinct slenderness ratios developed used. bearing capacity, compressive stress-strain curves, ductility, peak strain, shortening, toughness among topics covered by test. Experimental findings demonstrated that all conventional experienced failure through overall buckling, Local crushing infill, which was transformed into more using infills. test results revealed concrete-infilled outperformed terms strength, energy absorption capacity. percentage increase load-carrying observed 203.88%, 193.48% 190.03% compared cold-formed medium, short stub respectively. Under assessment stub, short, medium load-strain plots in-filled well ductility. Localized infill caused fail. In contrast, concrete-filled tube showed column column.
